Tips for completing the Flight Simulator X game. Passing Game #006

Cruise

Flight preparation includes selecting an aircraft, refueling, route planning, and downloading the weather online.

Preparing for the flight and choosing the aircraft.

The aircraft we will choose for our training flight will be a Mooney Bravo single-engine with a classic dashboard. While in the "Free Flight" menu, click the "Current aircraft" button and select the aircraft and its color. Clicking the Details button allows you to change the registration numbers. In our case, this is a joint venture GOAL.

After returning to the main menu, click the Flight Planner button to create a flight plan. Select Krakow-Balice (EPKK) as the departure airport and place the aircraft in parking lot 6. Then select Prague (LKPR) as the destination airport and select VFR flight as well as VOR-VOR navigation. Finally, click the "Find route" button.

The generated flight route runs through two stations VOR - OTA (frequency 117.45) and VLM (frequency 114.30) to the destination airport.

Flight route.

Set the flight altitude to 12,000 feet, then click the NavLog button to view the flight plan details. If desired, you can print the flight plan by clicking the "Print" button.

Navigation log (NavLog).

The length of the route is about 225 km. Our flight should last one fifteen minutes, and according to FS calculations, fuel consumption will be about 120 pounds. Unfortunately, the calculation of fuel consumption cannot be trusted, and the result should be multiplied by 1.5 and add some fuel for taxiing, waiting or headwind. 180 pounds should be optimal in our case, which means that each of the two tanks will be filled with 90 pounds of fuel.

The aircraft will be refueled by simply entering the Fuel and Payload menu and entering the values mentioned above.

Now let's set the weather in flight, this is done in the Weather menu. Let's choose Real-World Weather, which will download real weather from the Internet. Then we can choose the option "Static" or "updated every 15 minutes". The first option loads the weather for the start of the flight, and then remains unchanged until the end. If the second option is selected, the weather is loaded every 15 minutes, which makes the flight more realistic, provided that the computer remains online throughout the flight.

Now we're ready to fly, so go to the Free Flight menu and click Fly Now. After a while, we will find ourselves in the cockpit of our plane.
